Unveiling the Serica Parade Reference 1174: A Modern Take on Vintage Elegance (2025)

Introducing the Serica Parade Reference 1174 with Linen Dials: A Timeless Blend of Style and Functionality

Serica, the young French brand, has carved a niche for itself by seamlessly merging vintage aesthetics with modern tool watches, all while paying meticulous attention to details often overlooked by other brands. After successfully introducing field-ready divers and GMTs, Serica's Parade Reference 1174 has now expanded into the dress watch category without compromising practicality. The result? A stunning timepiece that exudes quiet elegance and offers a unique blend of style and functionality.

The Parade Reference 1174 features a stadium case, a soft rectangle with straight flanks and rounded ends, which, combined with a time-only display and 100m water resistance, makes it an ideal daily companion for any occasion. The line now takes a step further with two permanent references boasting linen dials, a classic cross-weave texture reminiscent of mid-century Datejusts and select Omega models. This texture not only adds character but also preserves the Parade's inherent elegance.

Measuring 35mm in width, 41mm in length, and 8.2mm thick, the case maintains the same proportions and lug-less design. The broad dial opening and gentle curvature ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist. But the geometry goes beyond aesthetics; Serica's sandwich construction, utilizing long through-bolts inside the bezel, compresses gaskets, enabling 100m water resistance in a slim automatic watch. The flanks are vertically brushed, the bezel is lightly polished, and the transitions are sharp, creating a visually appealing and durable timepiece.

The new linen dials showcase a deep, crisply milled relief that interacts with light, adding a welcome dimension to the minimalist layout. The color palette is restrained, featuring Slate Blue, a cool grey-blue that shifts with ambient light, and Tobacco Green, a warm olive-brown with subtle green undertones. Twelve polished, tiny hand-applied drop-shaped hour markers catch reflections, while the domed sword hands are mirror-finished. The handset is designed with simplicity in mind, displaying only hours and minutes, which slows down the watch's pace and maintains a calm composition.

Powering the watch is the Soprod M100, a thin automatic movement with a 28,800 vibrations/hour operating frequency and a 42-hour power reserve. The Côtes de Genève finishing is concealed behind a solid back, ensuring the case's rigidity and water-resistance. The watch is equipped with an alligator-embossed calf strap that tapers from 18mm to 14mm, secured by a pin-buckle that mirrors the stadium bezel. Genuine alligator straps are also available, and the flat case sides offer versatility in strap pairing, accommodating suede, shell cordovan, or slim mesh without altering the watch's shape.

The Serica Parade Reference 1174 with linen dials is now available for pre-order on Serica's website, with deliveries expected in mid-November 2025. Priced at EUR 1,490 (incl. taxes), this timepiece is a testament to Serica's commitment to crafting exceptional watches that blend style, functionality, and a touch of vintage charm.
