Well, the second annual TikTok awards recently shone a spotlight on the creators pouring their hearts and souls into the content we consume daily. Hosted at Magazine London by TV presenter Aj Odudu, the awards celebrated talent across 12 categories, including fashion, travel, food, and education.
Winning the coveted Creator of the Year award was Max Klymenko, known for his career ladder series. Max's series invites passers-by to guess their career through a series of yes/no questions. Max, who came to the UK from Ukraine 14 years ago, dedicated his award to his grandmother in Ukraine.
Video of the Year went to Bemi Orojuogun, aka 'bus aunty.' Her videos have garnered nearly 50 million views, leading to collaborations with brands like Burberry and Ikea. Bemi's success is a testament to her passion for London's transport network.
Nikki Lilly won Fashion and Beauty Creator of the Year. Nikki, who has 10 million TikTok followers, is challenging perceptions of beauty and body image.
Tola and Kevin, a mother-son duo, won the 'Voice for Change' award for their candid videos about raising a young adult with autism. Tola expressed her gratitude, sharing how the account has built an amazing community.
Charley Marlowe, a Radio 1 presenter, took home the Entertainment Creator of the Year award.
