Did the third umpire misinterpret the law? If Wadhera had thrown the ball in the air, leapt again, and then landed outside the boundary, a six would have been justified. However, since he didn't make further contact with the ball after his initial touch, the ball remained in play, and Dhir's catch was indeed valid.
And this is the part most people miss: Wadhera's role became irrelevant after he passed the ball to Dhir, and the confusion arose from the absence of a wicket or a six being awarded. Despite the controversy, India A must acknowledge that Pakistan was already in a commanding position, needing only 44 runs from 11 overs at that stage.
