Auburn Tigers are set to welcome a new quarterback to their ranks, with sources confirming that Byrum Brown, a senior quarterback from South Florida, is scheduled to visit this weekend. The potential move comes as a significant development, especially considering the current state of the Tigers' offense.
Brown, a senior from Raleigh, North Carolina, has one season of eligibility remaining. He's been a standout performer, leading all FBS quarterbacks with an impressive 42 total touchdowns and 347.2 yards of offense per game this season. His passing accuracy is remarkable, with 66.3% completion rate, resulting in 3,158 yards and 28 touchdowns. Additionally, he's a dual-threat, having rushed for 1,008 yards and 14 scores, with at least 100 rushing yards in six games.
Under the guidance of former Bulls coach Alex Golesh, Brown has been instrumental in USF's success. The Bulls, with Brown's leadership, achieved early-season upsets against ranked opponents, climbing to No. 18 in the AP poll. In four seasons at USF, Brown has accumulated impressive statistics, passing for 7,690 yards and 61 touchdowns, while also rushing for 2,265 yards and 31 scores.
Auburn, on the other hand, has been struggling. In 2025, they ranked 99th in passing (197.1 YPG) and 74th in scoring (26.8 PPG). The Tigers' top three quarterbacks are expected to enter the transfer portal, creating an opportunity for Brown to step in and make a significant impact.
The addition of Brown to Auburn's quarterback room could provide the much-needed boost to their offense. With his talent and potential, he might just be the answer to the Tigers' recent struggles. The question remains: will he make the move? Only time will tell, but the anticipation is building among fans and analysts alike.
